From Shekere Shaking to Actual Impact!
5 Strategies to move from From Inspiration to Real sustainable change....
It’s Right Teacher Conference Week, and WOW—what an experience! 🔥
We started the week with virtual sessions by Oluwatosin Oladipo, Victoria Vanni-Sodeinde, Ene Ameh, Lanre Oguntoye and David Ogunleye and they have been nothing short of amazing! 💡💬✨
I have NOT been able to keep calm! My Shekere shaking during the sessions has been deafening! 🎶😂
So much wisdom. So much inspiration. So many mic-drop moments that are reshaping perspectives on teaching, learning, and leadership. 🚀
The feedback has been super encouraging—I’m excited! The delegates are excited! 🎉 But here’s the thing…
Excitement during a professional development session doesn’t automatically translate to real change in mindset, practice, and most importantly, learner outcomes.
It’s easy to feel fired up after an incredible professional development session—the energy, the insights, the lightbulb moments!
So the big question is:
💡 How do we ensure that what we learn leads to actual, observable transformation in our education ecosystem?
It’s not just about inspiration—it’s about implementation…turning the inspiration into action
🚀 How do we take these powerful insights and turn them into action?
📚 How do we move from “Wow, that session was great” to “Here’s what I’m doing differently in my classroom/school”?
💭 How do we hold ourselves accountable for growth beyond the conference?
From Inspiration to Implementation: 5 Strategies for Real Change 🚀📚
Here are 5 key strategies to help us move from just hearing great ideas to actually doing them:
1️⃣ Reflection & Action Planning
💡 After each session, take 10-15 minutes to reflect:
✔ What resonated with you the most?
✔ What specific changes do you want to implement?
✔ How will this improve your teaching/leadership practice?
📖 Pro Tip: Write down one practical action per session and commit to trying it within a week.
2️⃣ Accountability Partnerships
👥 Growth happens best in community! Find an accountability partner and:
✔ Share one key takeaway you plan to implement.
✔ Check in weekly to track progress.
✔ Offer feedback, encouragement, and troubleshooting support.
🔗 Pro Tip: Join or create a small WhatsApp or Telegram group to keep the learning momentum going!
3️⃣ Small, Consistent Changes Over Time
🏗 The secret to lasting change? Start small and stay consistent.
✔ Instead of trying to overhaul everything, focus on one change at a time.
✔ Implement a new strategy for at least 2-3 weeks before evaluating its impact.
🔄 Pro Tip: "Habit-stacking"—attach a new practice to an existing routine (e.g., reflect on your lesson delivery every Friday before leaving school).
4️⃣ Share & Teach Others
📢 They say the best way to learn is to teach. So why not share what you’ve learned with colleagues or your team?
✔ Organize a mini-training session at your school.
✔ Write a LinkedIn post about your key takeaways.
✔ Share practical examples of how you’re applying what you learned.
✍🏽 Pro Tip: Create a "Learning Journal"—document reflections and progress, then use them to guide future discussions and mentorship.
5️⃣ Measure & Celebrate Progress
📊 How will you know change is happening?
✔ Track your progress—what’s working? What needs adjustment?
✔ Gather feedback from colleagues or students to assess impact.
✔ Celebrate small wins—they fuel motivation to keep going!
🎉 Pro Tip: Keep a "Wins List"—document positive changes, no matter how small. Growth takes time, and recognizing progress is key!
🌟 Final Thought:
Being inspired is great. Taking action is transformational.
Let’s commit to not just being hearers of the word but doers—leaders and educators who create real impact.

I love every bit of the RTC2025 though I could not attend the physical event in Lagos. Thank you for putting together this phenomenal think-tank team. It was completely a reflection, re-imagination and recommitment ride.
Now I am off to do the next right thing - IMPLEMENT my learning.
